Brooklyn Heights cleaning: planning for a multi-level home

Prepare an accurate cleaning scope for a Brooklyn Heights duplex or multi-level home, including stairs, bathrooms and separately occupied spaces.

Define the property you are booking

For a duplex or multi-level home in Brooklyn Heights, make clear whether the request covers one apartment, the full home or only selected floors. A street address can contain separately occupied spaces, and a bedroom count may leave out stairs, extra bathrooms and large common rooms. Describe the actual layout instead of relying on the building's appearance. This guide is for homes with multiple levels; it does not assume that all Brooklyn Heights properties share that arrangement.

Create a simple floor-by-floor list

Write each level on a separate line and list the rooms to be included. Add bathrooms, kitchens, landings and internal stairs explicitly. Note rooms that are locked, occupied or excluded. If access to one area passes through another resident's private space, arrange permission in advance. Building-managed hallways and shared stairwells should not silently become part of an apartment booking. Ask who has authority to approve those spaces and whether they require a separate scope.

Identify material and movement constraints

Tell the provider about delicate finishes, valuable objects and items that should stay in place. Explain whether furniture or storage blocks the surfaces you want cleaned. A request to clean floors does not necessarily include moving heavy pieces or lifting rugs. Elevated fixtures and difficult-to-reach areas need separate discussion. If you have surface-care instructions, make them available before the appointment. Existing wear and damage should be distinguished from dirt so restoration is not confused with cleaning.

Plan occupancy and access across levels

If residents are working, resting or caring for someone at home, explain which areas can be made available and when. Agree a workable sequence with the provider rather than creating an inflexible room order without consultation. Keep one person available to answer questions across the whole job. A separate entrance, intercom or door between levels should be tested by the responsible resident beforehand. Share entry information privately and ensure every included space is authorized for access.

Quote and review the same scope

Ask for a proposal that reflects the floor list, condition and additions, including any emptied storage interiors or specialist requests. At handover, use the same list to review what was completed. If a room was unavailable or a new task appeared, document the change rather than assuming it was included automatically. To request a JPN quote, provide your Brooklyn Heights address, levels, approximate area, bathrooms and priorities. Availability, access requirements and price should be confirmed before booking.
