How to prepare your apartment for a cleaning appointment

Preparing for a cleaning visit is mostly about access and clear instructions. You do not need to clean the apartment before the cleaners arrive. Instead, make it possible to reach the agreed surfaces and explain anything that affects the work. For a move, coordinate the cleaning window with packing, furniture removal and your handover deadline.

Arrange entry before the day

Confirm who will let the team in and how the building handles visitors. Share the floor, stair or elevator access and any front-desk registration requirements through your booking conversation. Ask management about documents or permitted working hours before the appointment. Tell us about those requirements so we can confirm whether they can be met; do not assume an online quote request completes building registration.

Make agreed surfaces accessible

Decide where to put personal items covering the counters, bathroom surfaces or floor areas you want cleaned. Identify belongings and rooms that should not be touched. Cleaning and organizing are different tasks, so request organizing separately rather than assuming it is included. If bed making is part of your scope, leave the linens you want used in an agreed place.

Share product and surface instructions

Tell us about special finishes, delicate fixtures and preferred cleaning products in advance. If you have manufacturer instructions, make those available. Our team can bring supplies for standard appointments, but special surface requirements need review before service. Do not leave unlabeled products with an expectation that they will be used. Specialist restoration or polishing is outside the standard cleaning scope.

For moves, plan the sequence

Tell us whether furniture and belongings will still be present. Discuss any requested appliance or cabinet interiors and when they will be emptied. Agree the timing of movers, access and the final review so cleaning can take place in the intended areas. A move-out clean does not itself guarantee a deposit return; the handover criteria are something to clarify with your landlord or building separately.
